Korea’s cherry blossom festivals are among the most popular springtime events, drawing millions of visitors a year. These festivals celebrate the beauty of cherry blossoms, which bloom in late March and end in april. The beautiful cherry blossoms symbolizes renewal and the never ending cycle of life, making their arrival a very anticipating event. As this event is famous all around Korea, the cherry blossom festival is celebrated across all regions of Korea.
One of the most famous cherry blossom festivals to mention is Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, located in Jinhae, a southern coastal city. There are about 350,000 cherry trees. People can visit the Gyeonghwa station and Yeojacheon stream, which are illuminated at night. Not only this, there are military performances and food markets to enjoy.
If you are in Seoul and can not visit the festival, do not worry, Yeouido Spring Flower Festival is the perfect place to visit. Yeouido is a man built island in Han river, the festival showcases over 1,800 cherry blossoms, similarly to Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, there are street performances and street foods to enjoy, it's a combination of nature and entertainment, when it becomes dark, the city illuminates with bright light, this mood best fits for couples and families.
Korea’s cherry blossom festivals are not just a visual treat, it displays the people’s love for nature and life’s blooming moments. Cherry blossom festivals provide everyone with good memories regardless of their age.
